1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using IELTS Buddy, creating an account, or submitting a payment, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Service Description
IELTS Buddy is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform providing AI-powered evaluation, mock tests, and practice materials for IELTS preparation. We offer digital, non-tangible educational goods. Our scoring models aim to closely replicate official examiner criteria but do not guarantee specific scores on official testing days.
3. User Accounts & Subscriptions
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Access to premium features requires a valid subscription, either purchased directly via our supported payment gateways (eSewa / Khalti) or granted through an affiliated educational institution.
4. Payments and Refunds
Plans do not auto-renew, so you are only charged for the period you buy. Manual payment submissions via QR code require administrative review and may take up to 24 hours to process before your access is activated.
You can request a full refund within 7 days of payment provided you have not consumed a paid feature. The full conditions, including what counts as consumption and how to make a request, are set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use IELTS Buddy only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or your educational institution, who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
6. Your Content
You keep ownership of everything you submit, including your essays and speaking recordings. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and transmit that content to our service providers strictly so we can evaluate it, generate your feedback and study plan, and show you your history. This licence exists only to run the service for you and ends when you delete the content or your account.
7. Acceptable Use
Do not share your account, resell or redistribute our materials, attempt to circumvent quotas or payment, scrape the platform, submit content that is unlawful, or interfere with the service's operation. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, and where we terminate for a serious breach we are not obliged to issue a refund.
8. Trademarks and Independence
IELTS is a registered trademark of the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. IELTS Buddy is an independent preparation service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or accredited by any of those organisations, and we do not administer official IELTS tests or issue official results.
9. Service Availability
While we strive for 99.9% uptime, IELTS Buddy relies on third-party infrastructure (such as Vercel, DigitalOcean, and AI APIs). We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform and are not liable for transient network disruptions or third-party service outages.
10. Limitation of Liability
IELTS Buddy is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including any official IELTS result, admission decision, visa outcome, or opportunity you believe you lost. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Governing Law and Changes to These Terms
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, and the courts of Kathmandu have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. We may update these Terms as the service changes. When we do, we will revise the effective date above, and material changes will be notified to you by email or in the app. Continuing to use IELTS Buddy after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
